Lithology and Thickness

Subdivided into three units. Lower member (Darari) consists of alternating thin bedded organic detrital limestone, dark blue limestone and massive, cliff-forming, silicified limestone with black shale beds near the base. Middle member (Satina Evaporite) comprises dolomite and solution and recrystallization formed by dissolution of anhydrite beds and recrystallized marls. The upper unit (Zinnar) comprises thin bedded organic detrital, sometimes cherty, limestone with some harder, scarp-forming silicified limestone; in the uppermost part oolitic limestones with clastic beds occur.
